Biographical Information: Charity Goodwin has been immersed in art since she was two years old. While other children around her played with toys, Charity engaged in endless hours with pen and paper. As the years went by, Charity expanded into a range of art media: graphite, color pencils, pen and ink, oil paints, clay, mixed media, collage, fiber arts, oriental calligraphy, and antique trunk restorations. She is grateful that God has made art an integral part of her life by weaving the love of art into the fabric of her heart and soul. Her family has always understood her close relationship with art and they are supportive of her time and effort with it. Through the creative venture of home schooling, her parents encouraged her to explore her talents and to reach for greater potential. Giving back to her family as they have given to her, Charity supports them in their endeavors and needs. Outside of education and art, Charity has expended her time in designing and decorating ice-cream cakes, baking and cooking, canning, knitting, herbalism, rock and mineral collecting, fiddling, and natural living. Charity believes that art should have a humanitarian outreach and has, over the years, put that belief into practice. Since early childhood, she has periodically volunteered her artistic talents to causes that uphold morality, wholesome families, nature, and life. As a volunteer, Charity has been an artist, chartered artist, secretary, and cultural liaison, and she has attended and participated in various art fairs and conventions. Charity completed an Australian environmental studies course in 1998. In 2003, she received her art diploma. By 2009, Charity was conferred an associate in science degree, with a focus on engineering. She attributes her deep appreciation of God’s beauty in nature to her parents’ high regard for God’s creation of life, as well as to her environmental field trips and studies; and she conveys such sentiment in her nature scenes. Through such courses as Topographic Drawing and Survey, as well as technical and engineering mathematics, Charity improved her precision in lines and proportions while exploring the art of cartography. Currently a freelancing artist, Charity sometimes teams up with her sister, Serenity, who shares many of the same interests and talents. Through God, Charity has come to understand that art is the evidence of possibilities and feels that God will use her work to touch the lives of others.
