Connie Furgason

Biographical Information:

Connie Furgason has been teaching calligraphy and related workshops since 1981 and has a university background in the Fine Arts and English. She taught classes through the Lethbridge Community College for 20 years and continues teaching weekend and week-long classes through guilds and other associations.

Connie has attended workshops across Canada and the U.S., including several international conferences. Her work has been published in several books: "ABC Canada," "The Spirit of Calligraphy," "Speedball 23rd Edition, "and most recently, "The Art and Craft of Hand Lettering." Besides doing commission work, she also does art and lettering in the commercial card and art print industry. As a traveling instructor, Connie has taught all levels of calligraphers throughout Canada and the U.S. Workshop locations include: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Montana, Utah, Minnesota, and California.

Besides teaching and doing calligraphy and other "artsy" stuff, Connie was the director for "PenUtima '99" (international conference) and for "Kalligraphia '04"...both held in Lethbridge, Alberta. She also loves time with her four children and gardening.
