Biographical Information: Six-year-old Rob A. Furman Sr. already knew he wanted to be an artist as he was growing up in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was encouraged by parents and family, beginning art lessons at age 11. He designed his high school emblem, colors, mascot and center court design. After graduating from East Carolina University in 1982 with a BFA in Commercial Art, he moved to the midwest to follow a dream and work for Hallmark Cards, Inc. During the last 29 years, Rob has honed his illustrative and photographic skills, working in oil, watercolor, airbrush, pastel, and mixed media. He is a professional photographer and video producer who now works from his own freelance studio. "I feel it is an advantage for me to have the ability to incorporate many tools and techniques when expressing myself in whatever media I choose. This is now the age of multimedia and that excites and impassions my creativity." Artist's web site: View some of Rob's work. |
