Post-resurrection appearance of Jesus to Peter and John who are gathered in the upper room behind locked doors.
The apostles Peter and John stand in amazement as Jesus approaches them through a locked door and greets them with the message "Peace be with you."
Wood-mounted icons are on 5/8" ProWood® Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) with a wood-look foil finish, with tee-slots milled in the back for easy hanging. Icons are finished in classic cherry to replicate the traditional icon red, in keeping with Byzantine tradition. (Ancient icon board edges were frequently coated with red bole, a form of clay). Each mounted icon comes with a descriptive pamphlet explaining the symbolism and history of the image.
Please allow 5-10 business days for orders of 20 or more icons.

This icon image by Br. Claude Lane, O.S.B. recalls Jesus' appearance to his disciples in the upper room after his resurrection from the dead. Peter and John stand in amazement and disbelief as they look upon Christ who suddenly appears in the room in spite of the locked door. Jesus shows them the wounds on his hands and side to calm their fearful and questioning hearts. His greeting of "Peace be with you" (John 20:19) resounds throughout the ages to bring serenity to our lives when our own faith is faltering. St. John's concluding words regarding this scene can equally be applied to this icon: "Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name." (John 20:30-31)
