Biographical Information: Fred has been working as a freelance calligrapher and lettering artist since 1983. His interest in lettering goes all the way back to his childhood when he was first captivated by the beauty of the Old English letterform. That fascination, plus the emphasis that his school teachers placed upon neat, legible handwriting, became a part of his subconscious and drew him ever deeper into the study of letterforms and the calligraphic arts. Today, his work covers a wide spectrum of applications and styles, ranging from greeting card design to illuminated testimonials and calligraphic broadsides and presentations. Currently residing in the Richmond, Virginia area, Fred is married and is blessed with a son, a daughter, 2 dogs, and a very mean cat. His wife is a very talented hair stylist although you wouldn't know it from looking at Fred's hair! Fred also enjoys playing guitar, mandolin, dobro and fiddle. Unfortunately, no one else seems to enjoy it very much... He can be contacted by e-mail at richmondscribe@verizon.net. |
