Biographical Information: From the time Julie could write, she was destined to be an artist. She doodled through most of her school years and hand-printed every paper and report. Julie attended Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati where she received an honorable mention in design and excelled in the lettering arts. Julie was scouted by American Greetings during her first year of school because of her interest and ability in the lettering arts and upon graduation, she was hired by them. A year later, she went to work for Gibson Greetings back home in Cincinnati. During her 21 years there, she rose to the position of Art Director. When American Greetings purchased Gibsonand closed the Cincinnati office, Julie had the opportunity to start her own business. Pinecombe Studios opened in the fall of 2001. Julie currently designs both hand lettering and graphics for the social expressions industry including greeting card, Christian, and novelty companies. Some of her other clients include advertising agencies designing custom lettering for packaging as well as designing brochures, direct mail, and point of purchase. In her spare time, Julie utilizes the other half of her right brain cantoring weekly at her church and singing with a sixteen piece swing band. Julie and her husband Tom live in a log home surrounded by pine trees and some of Ohio's greatest wildlife. Their daily visitors include whitetail deer, wild turkeys, lots of squirrels, and a wide variety of birds. Artist's web site: http://www.pinecombe.com |
