Biographical Information: Living near the most southerly point on the Australian mainland, illustrator and calligrapher Lynne Muir has had a wonderfully varied career in the world of publishing, illustrating books of Australian wildlife, Celtic poetry and lives of the saints. Calligraphy and intricately detailed borders are common threads that feature in all her work, whether depicting the poetry of the Psalms and Christian mystics or Persian mystics Rumi and Gibran. She designs books, boxed sets of stationery and exhibition pieces for a range of clients around the world and considers herself blessed to be able to interpret inspirational texts to a wide audience. Music is her other great joy, accompanying Celtic folksongs with an Appalachian dulcimer and regularly singing the great classics of the symphonic repertoire with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus. |
