Icon holy cards are 3" x 5", a convenient size for use as gifts or bookmarks. The backs are blank except for a faint colophon at the bottom, leaving plenty of room for custom imprinting with your own message.

Theology and Symbolism

This icon portrays the Blessed Virgin Mary with St. John the Evangelist. John is in a white and gold tunic, with a red cloak, and a white stole being placed on him by Mary. Mary is wearing blue and purple, with stars on her forehead and shoulders. The hand of God is blessing them from the upper right, and is holding a scroll, with the Greek letters "IC XC" for "Jesus Christ." This Beloved Disciple, who was entrusted with the care of the Virgin Mary, would have continued his "seminary training" with her, refining their theology together by their closeness to Jesus.
