Born in 1950, Michael has been married over 45 years to his wife Mary and has four daughters and 6 grandchildren.
He was educated at St. Patrick's College, Ballyhaunis Co. Mayo. Ireland and emigrated to England in the late 1960's. He attended Hammersmith College for Further Education London, where he studied Draughtsmanship and illustration.
Later Michael worked as company technical representative for Royal Dutch Shell (Chemicals) until his retirement. Throughout his working career Michael pursued a parallel career in art.
His work has been presented to two presidents of Ireland, Mary Robinson and Michael D O' Higgins. He has produced portraits of Bishops, Public figures, writers and well known Irish personalities. He is a Gallery artist with the Kenny Gallery Galway, one of the largest in Ireland. His work has also been acquired by municipal authorities in the West of Ireland and by private collectors in Australia, USA, France, Germany and the UK.
Michael also produces fine art images for the Greeting card industry in Ireland, UK and USA, He continues to paint on a regular daily basis in his studio in the west of Ireland.
